THE BRIDGE”, FT. LAUDERDALE, FL.- African American Research Library and Cultural Center-2002 BRONZE 12 ft.
Fashioned in the shape of a drum and topped with the universal African Adinkra symbol, the 12 ft. Monument tells a story of the struggles and successes of African-American people in their quest for freedom. Incorporating the library’s strategic plan and key issues – educational, geography, technology, economic, and cultural elements – intricately woven into the design.

During the late 19th century and early 20th century, plums from the snowy egret were very popular, which nearly led to their extinction. Later in the 20th century, plum hunting was outlawed which allowed the bird species to recover

"Today, Yesterday, Tomorrow"

The art installation includes a low relief bronze globe on a wall that allows the viewer to engage in identifying different continents of the world, engraved travertine stone tablets with significant dates of the City of Lauderdale Lakes, and a interactive human sun dial made of granite (surrounded by river rock pebbles),and an inspirational poem about time- the one thing all cultures have in common.

“CELEBRATING CHILDREN AND FAMILIES” 2007 BOYNTON BEACH, FL –BRONZE & KRINKlGLAS® 17ft Children respond to color, hence with a backdrop of primary transparent colors the bronze images of a family appear. The different colors symbolize the many multi-ethnic groups represented in the community. The transparent Krinklglas® allows for the transference of light and serves as a reminder that children are transparent about their feelings, thoughts and actions- a celebration of the vibrancy and excitement of the child-like spirit.

With both the park and the surrounding marina playing an important role in the economic and ecological vitality,” Mangrove Canopy” connects the city’s marina to the downtown and establishes a ‘sense of place’. Other design elements , fabricated in multi-colored stained glass represent the shimmering sun and water’s edge.

Most residents in the community attribute their heritage back to the Bahamas.

“Equality” is ¬ a sculpture that incorporates the logo of the Urban League of Broward County, Florida and represents the organization’s strong commitment to ensuring equality for all people. Life size figures of a three member family are an integral part of the sculpture. Fabricated in hnad painted aluminum, the work stands apprximately10’ tall and 10’ in diameter. Inscribed on the front and back of the sculpture concrete base is a quote that captures the philosophy of the ULBC. The open structure of the work assures maximum visibility from numerous sight lines. Visitors will are able to enjoy views from the street, sidewalk, below the sculpture, the parking lot and from the entrance.
